The Symmetry Within

An exploration of the patterns, transformations and resilience of Australian Banksias

I've always been fascinated by the extraordinary geometry of Banksias. Their intricate structures, repeating patterns and unexpected irregularities reveal a world of complexity that becomes more captivating the closer we look.

Over time, this fascination has grown into something more personal. In their changing forms - from vibrant inflorescences to weathered, sculptural remains - I began to recognise parallels with our own experiences of striving, adapting, discovering ourselves and learning when to be still.

The Symmetry Within is a collection of 24 photographs across four chapters, exploring the delicate relationship between order and imperfection, change and acceptance, growth and stillness.

It is an invitation to look closer, and perhaps to find something of ourselves in the natural world.
